Adventures Of Z

Without a doubt, every single day since Z came into my life has been an amazing adventure! So amazing in fact, that I feel like it would be ungracious not to share the experience with others!

I like to refer to myself as an “amateur autism mom”. Did I make up that term? I’m not actually sure… ha! But I think it describes perfectly where I am at in life. I’m definitely not here to give advice about autism or parenting because, let’s face it… I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing!

So why am I here? I’m just here to share our journey, because I think it’s important! Through sharing our joys, our triumphs, our struggles, I hope to help people look at autism a little differently. I hope that someone sees our story and maybe it makes the word autism a little less ominous. I hope someone realizes that though there are undeniable challenges, there is also beauty in autism! That a different way of looking at the world is maybe not such a bad thing; in fact it can be amazing! And that maybe, just maybe, by trying to step in to the world of a child with autism you may learn to look at the world a little differently yourself…
